I would love to be part of the WW support group! I would love to join your group. I am an emotional eater so I have gained 20 of the 46 pounds I lost. I feel like such a failure which just adds to my depression which adds to my emotional eating!! I think this new program is just what I need to get back on track. Thank you for being so positive and encouraging. I lost 75 pounds on Weight Watchers 5 years ago and have gained back 30 even though I am a life member. Been a WW member since , been a lifer since Still go to meetings every Sat morning although I did go last night to learn the new program.. Please count me in. Do I need a certain kind of phone? I have been toying around with joining WW and the only reason I have not done so is because of the mixed messages I have received regarding online and face to face meetings. Schedule wise online works best for me. I am in front of a computer at least 9 hours out of the day, so online is also convenient. I have been told that face to face meetings present greater accountability.

MY own problem not WWs. Felt like I was wasting my money. A bit embarrassed at weighing in. I joined 40 years ago and did so well and became a Lifetime Member. Even worked for them as a clerk. I am so ashamed of myself for not having better control over what I stuff in my mouth. Hopefully this new programme may do the job. I did my best under the original programme but then again I was 40 years younger. What I would love to see on weight watchers would be simpler recipes and cooking just for two as well as families.

Sandra in Ca — Thanks — I scrolle dup and saw that Viatatops chocoloate also my favorite went to 3 points — but like you said, wih free fruits and veggies, who cares! If you like oatmeal, you may want to try this: Follow the Quaker Oatmeal box directions for serving quantity. Start with 2 sticks of whole cinnamon in the water. Add 1 cup of Steel Cut oats great fiber and 3 cups of regular not instant oatmeal. While that is bubbling away, add a splash of vanilla extract to taste.

Keep stirring every few minutes and while that is happening cut up an apple or two remove the skin , lay in a glass pie dish and add ground cinnamon and a few shakes of Butter Buds or Molly McButter this is real butter just dehydrated to the top.

Add a little water and microwae on high for about 3. When the oatmeal is done, add the apples and stir well. The cinnamon will have thickened just a little and will over the next few days give even more flavor the oatmeal. You can add a little more ground cinnanmon to taste.

After the oatmeal cools, you can store in the fridge — it will last for about 1 week you will have just about enough for 1 cup a day. This is really good and you can take it to work in a plastic container — I travel with this even when visiting relatives so that I can have at least a decent breakfast.

I admit, as a Lifetime Member who has recently gotten back on the wagon I fell off I was more than a little freaked out about the change! But I will perservere!

It makes me feel like a newbie again and re-motivates me. All the past programs have worked if you follow them, but now it seems that new program is much more healthy oriented but still permits you to make your own choices.

Would love to join the support group, need alittle added motivation to get into this new program. I am a lifetime member since ; had a few set backs when I fell and broke my ankle 3 years ago. I need to get back on track and get back to excercising as best I can! The good thing is I am sill under my goal. The other good thing is that when I weigh in on Sat. I will have lost weight. The program is about a new mindset. Eating higher point quality foods to get up to 29 points. Today I came up short by 6 points and I had no room or desire for any more food.

Went to the meeting today that talked about the new point system. I love the fact that fruit is now 0 points. After the meeting I went to the store and stocked up on fruits and veggies. Went to the new points plus roll out this am and I think this the best of them all. While many point values have increased Progresso 0 pt soup is now 1 there are many that have decreased as well turkey breast from 1 to 0. Very excited about getting on this new WW plan, it has renewed my faith in WW. I find it much more complicated than the old point plan. I guess because I now need a calculator to figure out points when I was able to do it in my head. On points plus I have gone over the old points number a point or 2 each day but stayed within my points plus number. I know that WW has tried to incorporate the newest nutritional information into this new program but they also have a profit motive in getting new and older members into the meetings and also in selling new materials and kits.

Having done the new program for the last 3 days I have to tell you it is almost essential that you purchase the new points calculator and perhaps the new complete food companion. Most of the foods I eat just are not covered in the free materials. I guess we will see if in the long run it works. I have to wonder, after 3 days of doing it the new way, if in a year or 2 we will be back to doing it the old way in some renamed new plan.

Hello Danica, I appreciate your comments and enthusiasm regarding the new WW plan. Last evening I attended my regular meeting and I must admit it was the most quiet our group has ever been, just trying to listen and grasp the new concepts as our leader discussed them.

I just typed in WW new plan in my search and stumbled onto your webpage and it is wonderful. Explained so much more and the comments from friends has helped a great deal. I reached my goal and will work hard to maintain it for life!

But I am confused about how I can get my daily points target. On the old plan, it was I am not into going to back to a meeting right now and I do not subscribe to etools I am a Lifetime Member and the third option is to use my points calculator to calculate the daily points target seems to be the best bet for me, but how can I figure out my daily points target using my points calculator???

I have a points calculator from the most recent before this program change will i need to purchase a new one or is it the same one? Love to join , lifetime WW member.. But like even the idea of more than 18 per day and fresh fruit 0 Yeah!!! I heard that the old points calculator is obsolete now and you need to buy a new one!

I guess to be successful, one needs to make an investment! Looks like the kit with free calculator may be the way to go! Glad some people are interested in the new program. On the plus side, I found a formula online evidently the points plus system has been in place in Europe for a few years under a different name:. Yesterday, I was able to call WW number to ask a Q about the new electronic calculators.

The new points system sounds very exciting — free fruit! I bought the books and all that good stuff. It didnt break me but it was excpensive. So now if I want new books I have to pay for them. I do have an i phone so I have the app. I am almost a lifetime member. Im not sure if I like the new plan. I just found your blog and I love it!!! I think it totally worth 30 something but after getting it home 55 seemed outrageous for it. But I am loving the new program, I ate my normal breakfast of oatmeal and yogurt this morning, and while I usually ad a fruit to it.

This morning tough I added strawberries, raspberries and a banana!! Loving the zero point fruit!! I would like to join the support group. I entered in the nutrition info for a Special K Protein Meal bar and the new points value is 5 was 3 — I entered in the same nutrition info but lowered the protein and the points actually went down — I thought protein would lower points, not increase them. Also being an on the go mom, it made it very difficult to stay on the program. I would also love to see ideas shared. As a single parent I can no longer afford to attend meetings…that 39 a month is a huge expense for me…one that can go to utilies, groceries, etc. I could use a support group outside of weight watchers where I can get the support and encouragement that I need to stay on track.

I found this fantastic website off of a Yahoo news story when they quoted Danica. I have been maintaining lifetime goal for two years, and still attend weekly meetings. I do not subscribe to e-tools, use a 3 month written tracker, and have not had to pay since i am staying at goal. The materials were free and complete. The minimum daily is 29 for everyone — and if you are lifetime and maintaining — add 6 — to a daily target of See if that helps maintain — adjust accordingly.

The weekly allowance points are now 49 for everybody. Free fruit is wonderful! I was resistant to change also — but one can always find fault from a resistant point of view — I decided to accept the change as a booster to the mediocre set in, roll up my sleeves.

Fits my lifestyle better than any in the past. If you want to succeed, you have to be willing to ask yourself what you are willing to do — the resistance can become just another excuse to delay that success.

I was on maintance for 9 years and lost 65 pnds on the old point plan and kept my weight off till I got layed off over a year ago there went my routiine and then starting putting weight back on. Love going to the meetings and seeing the other members suggestions. I also would like to be part of the suport group love your site. Points Plus is exactly the same. The GI book offers details on how everything is calculated and there are very good tips. I still believe in tracking to stay focused. The new program will definitely work! I look forward to being a member of this support group. After eating points a day, really had trouble even coming close to recommended daily target of 35 and only used 2 of my WAP. Thus, my scale is showing a loss; hope that means as i adjust my eating, more points will mean maintenance.

Find i eat mostly power foods, a lot of fruit — which i guess was using my points up prior. Never in my life did i think i would have to eat more to NOT lose.

It works when you work it! Only took a lifetime of errors to get here — it IS possible, so hang in there! You, too, can do it. It is incredibly simple. It does not use four variables. It does not find plus points. But what it does find is virtually equivalent to plus points. Do you think anyone might be interested? I have lost 60 lbs with the old program and am looking forward to the new program. Our WW at work will resume with the new program the 2nd week in Jan.

I am diabetic and very concerned about the effect that free fruits will have on my daily glucose levels and my A1C three-month levels. I have been quite effective at managing my daily levels through minimizing sugary fruits such as grapes, melons and pineapples. I checked the site for a discussion of diabetes and the new program to no avail.

I am thinking that I can follow this program if I maintain my current consumption rules for fresh fruit. Common sense tells me that I will need to modify the program to meet my needs; however, will too much modification mean that I am not really following this program?

I have been attending a Weight Watchers meeting and leave feeling motivated but by the second day I have lost motivation, with sweets being the main problem. Very excited about the new program. I have wanted to eat less carbs but did not want to do Atkins or the other popular low carb or no carb diets. So I hope you will let me join your group i would appreciate it very much.. I had the best luck with Core in the past — but not enough people did it and it was hard to stay motivated. I have so many questions still have not been to a meeting yet about the changes in points.

I wonder if there is a site with the new points listed for most foods? I still love a piece of pizza occasionally and a glass of wine, so now with the extra points I think it will fit in nicely. When I did the old point system I never lost more than 2 pounds in a week, however, when I started doing Core — I lost 4.

Thanks for the effort. I never saw the estimated points per meal chart. Can someone update me on the pnts per weight? I am about scale needs batteries and i would like to know how many pnts im allowed with this new system. Nvm I just read where you arent allowed to combine the old and new program.

I am not sure about the effectiveness of the new plan. In the first week of the new plan I lost 1 lb. In my case I think the problem is the 0 point fruit without any advice or limitation about the maximum quantity one can eat per day. I ate a lot of fruit. In the past plan it sum up about points e. Now it is all together zero points. I lost 52 lb. It was an excellent online tool for weight control and loosing it will be a big gap for me to diet. Could I please join your support group?

Now How do I order the new deluxe kit? Is this a different app you refer to? I did WW 9 years ago and lost 30 pounds. I stopped doing it because I thought that I could continue to lose on my own. I need the accountablity. In the pic above from the kit there are also 10 levels of allowed points. I have 1 hubby and 4 kids ages yrs. I do not, but want to help them. Is it feasible for me to attend the meetings since my schedule allows it and I am the cook in the family , and implement this program for my whole family?

I recently bought on eBay the original WW book, as well as the revised plan WW came out with in I'm not sure which one I'm going to attempt. To tell the truth, what's holding me back is the incredible amount of fish you're supposed to eat each week! Any suggestions on that? Does anyone know how important it is that I stick to that part of it?

Seems to me that I could substitute some of that fish with lean meat, don't you think? I'm totally new to WW but from what I've read, those early plans were definitely easier to follow and quicker weight loss.

I have always hated fish, like every type of fish including shrimp and lobster. I've started trying to eat fish for weight loss and also because it's just supposed to be so good for you. Mostly I have been just trying to suck it up and eat fish like I eat brussel sprouts, just suck it up and hurry through. I have found two ways of eating seafood that are acceptable though.

I swear it makes almost any fish at least edible. As to switching out to other lean meats, it may work but I would try cilantro salmon first. If you look at past posts in the fitness tab on this website they talk about chelation and how cilantro helps your body detox. Your answer wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear yes, you do have to eat all that fish but at least you made me laugh as I read your reply: Oddly enough, brussel sprouts are the only vegetable that I absolutely can't stand and will not eat.

Funny that you brought that up. I copied the Cilantro Salmon recipe down and plan to try it soon. And yes, I've become aware in the past couple of years of the differences between wild-caught and farm-raised fish and try to always buy wild only. Oh well, I guess I have to suck it up and eat fish, dang it. I found that tuna with salad fixings made a terrific lunch and an easy way to fill the weekly fish quotas.

It was called the Original Plan when I ran across it. However, I remember sort of - I was really young and just listening to old people talking hearing about some plan that required you to eat about a gazillion bananas.

Pick the April and hit it. The original points description shows on that page if you scroll down to it. Points allowed were determined for each person as they chose the rate and number for their goal. But in fact it almost always turned out to be points unless you were very obese then it went up to points per day. Also it differed for men and youth. Also, you could earn 2 points or more per day depending on how much exercise you got over the basic 20 mins required per day. The food exchanges plan was the very bestest!

I joined WW in , lost weight, kept it off and became a WW leader. I sure wish I had all my program booklets. I went back to WW in ish and all they talked about was how many chocolate kisses they could eat for all their daily points.

Does anyone have the extra booklets that spoke to out to eat??? Thanks for your comment. The chocolate kisses thing is why I really prefer the Original plan over the Points Plan. I tried both and I am really just too irresponsible to be told I can eat my points in cake and candy. That just really didn't work for me. I know the exchange plan is based on a diabetic diet. If that was your favorite and you can't find it, you may want to google diabetic exchanges and use that to guide you.

I used the older plans as well for weight watchers and became a life time member in the 's. The point plans did not interest me and I still dig out my exchanges when I need to make a correction to return to my goal weight. Remember; as we age our goal weight has to be adjusted as well, check with your doctor or dietitian. Tops plan still offers the exchange system identical to the old WW ones.

Richard Simmons old Deal a Meal also was an exchange plan mostly the same. On the tops web site and at their meetings you can find the old WW type journal sheets for keeping track of your exchanges and substitutions allowed as optional calories and personal choice fruits or milk or bread or protein extras.

Richard simmons web site also has a journal for keeping track of exchanges. He still uses the exchange basics only he began to close windows on food groups in a handy hand held counter.

WW allowed various levels which changed according to how fast or slow you wanted to loose. Levels were different too for men and youth. And yes you could always substitute for the many fish meals if you could not stand fish, but you had to have less volume of the alternate protein in order to keep the calories the same.

Exchange plans are really a fancy way to keep track of calories to make it easier to plan and keep to a set caloric total for your age, height and goal. Originally exercise was optional and now as WW includes more calories under their point systems exercise is required to loose at the same rate as of old. PS I am still pretty healthy for an old gal too and WW old system works. Back when i did this originally i hated fish.. Glad you are a fellow fish hater!

The tuna idea is a great way to get the benefit of fish without having to actually eat fish. You should check out our Salmon Patty recipe on this site - it is another painless way to get fish if you couple it with the Corn Fritters!

Your weight loss on this plan "back in the day" was fabulous! And I do think this diet actually gets us thinking about how to eat healthy so we can keep the weight off. To my knowledge, there was never a WW plan called the original plan; if there was it was from the mids and it definitely did not contain "floater" exchanges and optional calories: Just like there have been multiple versions of the points plans, there were multiple versions of the exchange plans.

I do not recall a plan that ever allowed that much protein PLUS 7 floaters and optional calories. I do not have time right now to drag out all my old materials from the 70s and 80s, but will try to do so later if you have specific questions or are otherwise interested. I remember the plan that had the 7 floaters and optional calories. I think it might have been called Quick Start. I wish I had all my original materials from back then! I agree that it was a better plan for teaching the concepts of healthy eating and portion control.

Some are used, ebay may have them too. In this they give the plan summary, some exchange lists and include recipes that all work with the plan.

Be sure to order a book prior to their points system, so to not include those newer analysis on the recipes and plan. I am starting my Old Weight Watchers. I lost 77lbs once. It only took me about 5 months to do it. I was amazed at how fast I lost the weight.

I walked 3 to 5 miles 6 days a week. I worked out everyday. And I didnt eat after 7: I was really committed. I gained the weight back because of cortisone and steroid injections due to back surgery. I do know that it works. I love the old way much better. I got confused with the new system. Too much to do. I never had to change anything that I ate. Brenda, how did you get the old WW program? I've been looking for it for quite a while. I do not like the new point system. How many calorie bread do you eat?

What kind of cereal do you eat? Can you have oikos vanilla greek yogurt? I have gained weight on the new points program.

So glad to find this. I did WW in and was so surprised at how easy it was. I did not like vegies I lost 15 lbs on it. The new plans have never worked as well. As others here have said, it seems like people are trying to figure out ways to keep eating junk. This planned helped me become a healthier eater. I need to take off again.

I think I will give this a try. From what remember the original plan allowed ounces of meat for lunch and ounces for dinner. Points system was too complex I became too obsessed with the points and exchanges.

Thank you for this! Back in the s my parents and my aunt went on the original plan and lost so much weight among them that it added up to an entire other person, and they all kept it off.

In fact my aunt, now 98, is still keeping it off, even though she is the best cook in Texas. Naturally I had great hopes for WW, but the points system never worked for me. I can't even remember how many times I started WW with high hopes and failed after initially losing a few pounds and finding that I was always hungry--probably because I was using my points for the wrong foods. It didn't help that they were always trying to sell me tasty carb-laden 2-point treats and giving me free samples.

The new WW gives me more freedom than this compulsive over-eater can handle. I absolutely cannot eat sweets and lose, and I don't know anybody who can.

But this approach give me some real hope. It's too bad WW didn't stay with it. Does anyone have a copy of the tracker from the Freedom Plan? Or even a homemade version? I like having the little boxes to check off for each exchange. Liz, the older versions of Weight Watchers many plans had lots of journals with the check off boxes for the exchanges count for each day.

If you go on Richard Simmons web site you can get a similar print out of an exchange system journal sheet and it has boxes too. I just take the old WW plans system tracker with box check off sheet and copy many more days and sheets for me to keep track from my old Weight Watchers material.

Every year weight watchers seems to revise their plan. Wonder if they plan to do that. Shirley, yes weight watchers changed or modified plans every year and likely still does. It is meant to keep up with science as new info becomes available from the weight loss studies.

It also helps then sign up new members to keep recent and members wanting the latest plans. I think the turnaround was an early points system I recall.

You can go online to eBay and amazon and search for people selling their old material. There are plenty of older packages there. I love this diet. I actually lost weight on it. Weightwatchers wouldn't give it to me. Lynn hi and welcome. You can get all or most info on the Weight Watchers older version diet from the book: It comes in hardcover and three ring binder form. It can be ordered used, from Ebay or Amazon or online book site or a book store maybe could get you one used. It was published in by Macmillan Inc and was written by Weight Watchers international.

It has a description of the plan, menus, and some exchanges. They published it prior to the introduction of their points plans so it has the older information.

You will have to draw your own food journal sheets and copy them, to check off squares if you want to track exchanges, though one similar is on TOPS websites and Richard Simmons web sites. Be sure to get the exact title, and year as they wrote others that look similar. Tops still uses a similar plan as one of its options.

Well this is just awesome! My college-age daughter and I are doing the very same thing right this minute. I lost 6 stone 40 years ago with the old weight watcher plan. I have rejoined weight watchers and hate the new points plan.

There is no discipline. When I see ''free foods'' I just eat them all day, that's no good to me. I am going to use the old way. Thank you for resurrecting the old WW plan. In , I was a chubby year-old when my dear mother sent me to my first WW meeting. We sat in a hotel conference room and I recall that most of the ladies always had a can of Tab or Fresca.

I am not a fish eater, so eating fish every other meal was daunting. I won't even mention the liver. It was very hard, at that age, but I lost 35 lbs. My mother was very supportive, even though she was an exceptional cook. She often fixed my special meals while cooking the "regular" meals for herself and my sister.

Undone by what I felt was a monotonous diet, I gave up and regained most of the weight over the next two years. I ended up going back and trying the different "improved" versions every other year since. I will soon be 60 years old. I am now facing a do or die health situation and do not need the freedom of these everything-goes plans that are out today.

I have been encouraged to have surgery by a couple of doctors who clearly do not understand the psyche of career dieters. Cut-and-fix solutions only work if the individual understands what and how to eat The old WW is spot on.

Hi Weight Watchers, Do you remember the "cheese French toast" recipe. You take 1 slice of bread, toast it, and cut it on half length wise to make 2 full slices of bread. Weigh out 1 oz of hard cheese and put it between the 2 slices of bread like a cheese sandwhich.

In a bowl mix 1 egg, a little water, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and whip it together. Put cheese sandwhich in the egg mixture, coat the sandwhich and cook it like French toast. Drizzzle a little syrup over the top when you put it on your plate. This was delicious and only 1 bread, 2 proteins, and 1 fat. I am so relieved that I found this website. I am a life time member of the original Weight Watchers from I left ages ago. Once it was changed to the Points system it was impossible for me to follow being that I hate numbers and math. They made it so horribly confusing to even want to lose weight. I had a breast reduction for health reasons 5 years ago. And practically starved myself for the surgery. Needless to say it was very, excruciatingly very hard to maintain that dieting mode.

I tried to go back to Weight Watchers some years ago. I hated the Points system. My mind set was strictly on the old WW program from , They kept saying forget the old program. Being that it was very structured and I needed to be guided with measuring and portion control. To the point of obsessiveness. I lost a couple pounds the first week on the new program, the following week gained one half a pound. Well that was enough for me.

I left Weight Watchers and I swore to myself that I would never go back. Although I became a lifetime member and was awarded my "key to the future". I came back to a Weight Watchers where you could not see in private surrounded by a cubicle your own weight loss on the scale.

They had to tell you behind the counter what you weighed. And I am so very sorry that I threw out all my old Weight Watchers books. Everything you had to pay for when you use to just get it for free. The points system is so irritating. By constantly having to keep track of points all day, I have too think about food all day and constantly plan around that; therefore, I am constantly hungry. Thank you for sharing the Original Weight Watchers Diet. My sister started the 21 Day Diet Fix and I told her that it was basically a copy this one and a lot more expensive to start! More to it than I remember. I was thinking about this last night. You could use Seven Seas Italian dressing or wish bone Italian. If you used butter or margarine it came out of your fats. I ate tuna fish plain or mixed with cottage cheese. Kraft made cheese sticks which were a snack. I drank V 8 juice every day. I had chicken or fish for dinner and a salad and an egg and a piece of toast for breakfast.

A total of 24 lbs in 3 weeks. Going to give it a shot again starting Monday. In Australia it was in a red paper cover and had about six weeks of diets in it. I lost about 20 kg using it and have not had a better diet to follow, any help would be greatly appreciated. Could I please also get a copy of the s or s WW plan? I would like the copy of the original WW food,list. I lost 60 pounds on that diet in the early 70's and my weight is creeping back up so time to follow it again! Could I please get a copy of the Weight Watchers - very simple plan that was around in the and was a six week plan.

I am also looking for the WW plan from the 70's. My mom lost 30 pounds on it and has kept it off her whole life. I am at a bad place right now and need to try something I feel will work. I need a menu plan of suggested foods for all meals. I would really like if somone would email me the version of the original Weight Watchers plan before all this Points Plus abd now Smart Points stuff!

I quit going and want to get back to basics and what actually works!!
